Questions and answers
Everything about our letters from Santa and the 24 Elf Notes. Anything else? Write to us any time.
Does my child's information go to an AI?
No names, no address. Your child's name, where you live and every real name are added only when the letter is printed. The AI only sees descriptions such as “has a cat and a best friend”. Once the letter is posted, we delete your answers.
Can I read the letter before I pay?
Yes. You tell us about your child, we write the letter, and you read it in the preview. Only when you love it do you go to the checkout. The preview is free.
Is the letter written by AI?
Our workshop writes every letter with the help of AI, using only what you tell us. You read every word before you pay, and you can change your answers until the letter feels just right. The illustrations on this site were also created with AI.
What does the envelope look like?
The letter arrives in a white window envelope. The window shows the sender, “Santa's Workshop, North Pole”, with your child's name and address below. There is no wax seal and no North Pole postmark: letters to Ireland are posted from our workshop in Germany, letters to the United States are posted within the US. You also get a PDF copy by email.
When should I order?
For Christmas: Ireland by Tuesday 8 December at 22:59 Irish time, the United States by Friday 11 December at 11:59pm Eastern Time. Order before the deadline and if the letter arrives after Christmas Eve, you get your money back in full. The 24 Elf Notes arrive by email straight away, so you can order them until 24 December.
Which countries do you post to?
English letters go to Ireland and the United States. Families in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein can order our German letters.
Will Santa mention a naughty list or promise presents?
Never. Santa's letters are warm, funny and encouraging. He praises what your child has done this year and never threatens, scolds or promises a particular present, so there are no awkward questions on Christmas morning.
What are the 24 Elf Notes?
Twenty-four short notes from your family's elf, one for every morning from 1 to 24 December, each with your child's name. They come as a PDF with six notes per page, ready to print, cut out and leave by the elf door.
Can I return a letter?
Every letter is written and printed for your child alone, so it cannot be returned once printed. That is why you read it first and can change anything. If something goes wrong with printing or delivery, you get your money back.
Who is behind the workshop?
A small family business from Lake Starnberg in Bavaria, Germany. For every letter we post, we give €2 (or $2 in the US) to a children's cancer ward in Munich. You can reach us at hello@littleelfpost.com.
